Rinse the rice with water. Boil sufficient water and transfer the rice to the boiling water. Cook for 55-65 minutes under a low to medium fla me. Keep the vessel partially closed until the rice is properly cooked. Strain the rice and serve hot.
Pressure Cooker Method (Easy and Convenient method)
Rinse the rice with water. Transfer the rice to a pressure cooker containing sufficient water (3 cups of water for 1 cup of rice). Boil it until the first whistle is released. Continue heating under low- medium flame for 25-30 minutes until the rice is properly cooked. Switch off the flame and allow the steam to settle. Remove the lid and strain the rice. Pour boiled water and continue straining to remove stickiness of cooked rice. Cooked rice is ready to serve.
Microwave Method (For small servings only)
Rinse the rice with water. Transfer the small quantity of rice to a microwavable container and pour water to cover the rice by one inch or above. Keep the container partially closed and permit the steam to escape. Microwave it until the rice is properly cooked. Allow to settle for the next three minutes. Cooked rice is ready to serve.
